There are 5 different ways to say the same thing.

1. Assertive (I'de like for you to make the bed sometimes)

2.Negative ( I shoudn't have to ask you to make the bed. you sleep in it too)

3.Indirect ( why dont you make the bed?"

4.Manipulative ( if you cared about how our room looked you'de make the bed)

5. Moralistic (You really should make the bed)

Of course the assertive approach is the best. the other approaches leave people with the burden of trying to

 explain themselves or creates negative responses, or tends to make others feel resentful or guilty.

Why not try out a new way of communicating,one that leads the other person to feel valued.

When others feel heard and respected they are more likely to listen!
